Dorothy Brooks "Dollie" (Minter) Stephens
(1848-1920)
Dorothy Brooks "Dollie" Minter married John S. Stephens in 1867. She was born in Georgia in 1848 to Joseph Thomas "Pappy" and Sarah Ann (Carter) Minter. Dollie's husband, John, was a leader in business and well-liked in the community. After Dollie's sister, Martha's, husband passed in 1891, Dollie and John took Martha's youngest daughter, Lillian "Lidder" (Denney) Pounds (b.1889 - d.1972), into their home to raise.
Dorothy Brooks "Dollie" (Minter) Stephens (b.1848 - d.1920), was the daughter of Pappy Minter and Sarah Ann (Carter) Minter.
This was the home of Uncle Johhnie and Aunt Dollie [Dorothy (Minter) and John S. Stephens] in Sulphur Springs, Texas. After the Stephens' had passed away, their niece, Lillian (Denney) Pounds, her husband Henry, and children lived there.
