Joseph Morgan "Maug" Minter, Sr.
(1841-1917)
Joseph was the fourth child of Pappy and Sarah Minter. He was 14 years old when the family moved from Georgia to Texas. He served in the Civil War from 1861-1865. Maug and his wife, Ada, would eventually have ten children. They farmed south of Bethel, Texas, which was a few miles from Pine Forest. Many of this line of the family are buried in Pickton Cemetery.
Joseph Morgan "Maug" Minter, Sr. (b.1841 - d.1917) and his wife, Ada Brittiania (Askew) Minter (b.1846 - d.1917). Maug was the third son (fourth child) of Joseph Thomas "Pappy" Minter and Sarah Ann (Carter) Minter.

Thomas Morgan Minter, Sr. (b.1937 - d. 2011), son of Joseph Adolphus Minter (b. 1911 - d. 1977) and Idabel (Templeton) Minter (b. 1911 - d. 1980).
Mary Ann (Minter) Pleasant (b. 1935 - d. 2006), daughter of Joseph Adolphus "Joe" Minter (b. 1911 - d. 1977) and Idabel (Templeton) Minter (b. 1911 - d. 1980) Mary Ann resided the remainder of her years in Pickton, TX, down the road from Pine Forest. She has been a leader in the preservation and commemoration of the heritage of the Minters of Pine Forest.
This Association is grateful for the work that her and many others have done.
Dr. Joseph Robert "Joe Bob" Minter (b. 1932 - d. 2010) was the son of Joseph Adolphus Minter and Idabel (Templeton) Minter. He married Dorothy Wright in 1953. Joe served in the United States Arm during the Korean War and was later a Hopkins County Judge. He was affiliated with a great many community organizations. He is buried in Pickton Cemetery.
Bessie Leola (Minter) Gassaway (b. 1879 - d. 1967) and her husband Prince P. Gassaway (b. 1879 - d. 1962). They had no children. Bessie is the daughter of Joseph Morgan "Maug" Minter and Ada Minter.
Jesse Cebran Minter (b. 1889 - d. 1972) and his wife Virginia "Veg" (Hayes) Minter (b. 1891 - d. 1982). Jesse's father was Ada Brit Minter and his grandfather was Joseph Morgan Minter.

Carl Mikule "Mike" Minter (b. 1937 - d. 2009), was the son of Paul Mitchell Minter (b. 1913 - d. 1987) and Helen Gay (Purcell) Minter (b. 1917 - d. 2002), and brother to Patrick Paul Minter. Mike is pictured here as the Master of Ceremonies for the 1999 Minter Family Reunion.
Barbara Harrell "Bobbi" (Adams) Minter (b., 1933) on left, with husband Patrick Paul "Pat" Minter (b.1935 - d. 2001), on right. Pat is the great-grandson to Joseph Morgan "Maug" Minter and Ada Minter. Both were accomplished musical performers, and they provided entertainment at the 1999 Minter Family Reunion in Pickton and at the Memorial Service in Pine Forest.

Joseph Stephen "Steve" Minter (b. 1974) and his wife, Rhonda, the night before their wedding in Decatur, Georgia, on October 3, 2003. Joseph Stephen is the son of Joseph David Minter (b. 1954) and Stephanie Ann (Stright) Hill. Steve is the grandson of Judge Joseph Robert "Joe" Minter (b. 1932 - d. 2010).
Joseph Aaron Minter (b. 2004), is the son of Joseph Stephen "Steve" Minter (b. 1974) and Rhonda Minter.
